Virgin forest reserve Janj spreads on 295 hectares of land, and it is about 30 kilometers away from Sipovo. In the 60’s of the last century, the authorities separated forest’s core of about 58 hectares, so the wood exploitation has been banned in that area. Since then, the area has been serving exclusively for researches of natural processes of flora and fauna, without human impact. The supervision of illegal use of natural resources and other appearances that could disturb natural life and balance has been increased. The forest mostly consists of beech, fir, maple, elm, ash and spruce trees.
For the first time in the history of the city, the tourist organization of the municipality of Šipovo was officially established on June 19, 2007 by the Municipal Assembly of Šipovo. Its main task is to present and improve the tourist offer of the municipality. The seat of the organization is, in Gavrila Principa Street, no. 7a.
