Archeological sites: More than 100 archaeological sites have been identified in the municipality. In SR BiH, two sites in the Šipovo area were marked as II (second) category of monuments under the protection of the state (Register of the State under the protection of the state). As the third monument, Soko Grad is mentioned, but the categorization of the fortress as a monument was postponed by war in early 90s.
The Municipality of Šipovo is full of toponyms and it calls: Gradina, Crkvica, Gromile, Mramori, Krst … All of this is confirmed by the Republic Institute for the Protection of Cultural-Historical and Natural Heritage, which is aimed at institutional protection, more detailed introduction of this systematicentering into the catalog, contacting the municipal authorities in order to prevent the destruction and disappearance of many sites important not only for us in Šipovo, but also for the European and wider cultural heritage of Gradina, with over 30, belong to late Bronze and Earlier Iron Age, therefore, can be dated to 1500-1000 g. p.n.e. Volari settlement is an old Illyrian settlement called Volorai, and the hamlet of Sarići was named Saritte.
One of most important finding in the area: From the left side of the Jajce – Šipovo road at the very entrance to the city, there are hills, streets and squares from the Roman period, which was discovered during excavation, by probe exploration. In the eighties, locals found golden rings and jewelry at this site. Interesting is the Hrid and Sveto Brdo at the source of the river Janja, where the inscription from the Roman period was embroidered in the rock. There is also the Path of Salt, which went from Split, Livno, through the piles, where there was a large caravans resort. Recently, in the work on the construction of a collector, a tomb was found for which it has not yet been established since it originated. The assumption is that it is a Greek tomb and the bones found are stored in the workshop. There is also a monastery Glogovac from the 18th century, and at the entrance to Glogovac there is a fortress from the Illyrian period, where there are a large number of fragments of ceramics, and about 250 ethnic and cultural-historical exhibits are stored in the workshop. It is worth pointing out that among the most beautiful and most valuable acquisitions, the National Museum in Sarajevo includes antique sculptural and architectural fragments from Šipovo. The pimers for this are the mausoleum from Šipovo, then. the relief of Jupiter and Minevra, and the bizarre composition of the lion’s head, which was excavated in 1933 and many others. According to the prof. Dimitrije Sergejevski is about monuments that are rarely found in BiH, and some of them would be very interesting from the standpoint of world art history. In support of this are the claims of the scientist that Šipovo is an undiscovered archeological treasure of BiH. All this creates the need for a space in which this material would be preserved until the means for opening the Regional Museum were created or an institution was created that would take care of it. The municipal budget amounted to KM 1.5 million in 2004, but this year there are no funds for the protection of the heritage, although the municipality has supported the protection of the heritage in other ways.
For the first time in the history of the city, the tourist organization of the municipality of Šipovo was officially established on June 19, 2007 by the Municipal Assembly of Šipovo. Its main task is to present and improve the tourist offer of the municipality. The seat of the organization is, in Gavrila Principa Street, no. 7a.
